Topic 1: Interpersonal relationships

Purpose: Students to acquire basic information about the concepts of personality, relationships and interpersonal relationships.

Expected results: To improve the quality of communication in the classroom.

Supporting information: Interpersonal relationships are communication, friendship, intimacy, a relationship between two or more people, which can be temporary or long-term. This closeness and friendship can be based on love, solidarity and support or another type of social commitment. Interpersonal relationships are formed under the influence of social, cultural and other factors. The meaning of these relationships can vary depending on: family, kinship, friendship, marriage, other emotional relationships, work, study, clubs, neighborhood, and groups or places of entertainment.

A person is every single person, and interpersonal relationships between people appear when individuals begin to communicate with each other. For example, in your class, each person is a person, and when you communicate with each other, you create interpersonal relationships. Communication between all of you is important not only for the group and your class, but also for society, as the habits of proper, careful and kind communication will benefit you in both your professional and personal life.

An important feature of interpersonal relationships is their emotional basis. The emotional basis of interpersonal relationships includes three types of emotional manifestations: affects, emotions and feelings. Feelings, as you know, can be very different. We can divide them into two groups:

  • Feelings that bring people together and unite. In them, the other party acts as a desired object, in respect of which readiness for joint activities is demonstrated;
  • Feelings that divide people. They appear when the other person is shown to be unacceptable, causing you unpleasant feelings that do not make you want to work together.

Communication is important not only for the development of the individual (that is, of each of you), but also of society as a whole. Through it, personal social relations are built and realized. The formation of communication skills is the basis for the implementation of full communication and personal development and is included in the general characteristics of the future personality.

Building positive and full-fledged interpersonal relationships depends on another factor - empathy. Empathy is a person's ability to empathize with the emotions, feelings, and thoughts of others. If he has this ability, then his interpersonal relationships will be much more fulfilling and positive. The more people who know how to empathize and empathize with the emotions of others, the more valuable communication partners they are.
