Topic 2: Rights and obligations of children and young people. Do we know our rights?

Purpose: Students should know their rights, but also build an idea of the importance of fulfilling their duties.

Expected results: Increased attention in complying with one's own obligations, as well as understanding the possibilities for each individual to seek their rights.

Every person in your school, no matter if they are a student, an employee or in charge of the chair for your meals or have their own social role (you are teenagers, others are adults), have their own rights and their obligations (you are students, others are teachers, support staff, etc.).

  • So, for example, as students at school, you have the right to:
  • To receive a quality education;
  • Get respect from your class and teacher;
  • To be heard;
  • To be given the right to freely express your opinion as long as it does not hurt or offend another person;
  • You have the right to actively participate in classes;
    To get their own personal space in the classroom as they are
  • your rank or your wardrobe;
  • To voluntarily participate in various extracurricular activities.

In addition to the things you are entitled to and are entitled to, in your role as students you also have your obligations, namely:

  • To attend regular school;
  • Study your lessons regularly;
  • Take care of the cleanliness of the school and of your student place;
  • Be polite to others;
  • To always bring the necessary study aids and materials to school;
  • Attend and participate in classes and activities;
  • To preserve the authority of the school and the school community and to contribute to the development of good traditions;
  • To respect the rights, honor and dignity of others, as well as not to apply physical and mental violence;
  • To present to your parents and pedagogical specialists your school record and correspondence notebook;
  • To comply with the school's rules of conduct;
  • Attend school in appropriate clothing and appearance.

Skills gained at the end of the game:

  • Each member of the group has a clear idea of the evaluation of himself and of the way he is received by the rest of the class. This brings various benefits, such as having a clear idea of the impressions he leaves on others and the opportunity he gets to correct his behavior if necessary;
  • Positive interpersonal relationships are most often built between people who have a clear idea that they like and approve of each other and have common interests. In this sense, by pointing out positive qualities in others, each of you strengthens your positive attitude towards them and has the opportunity to receive the same in return.
